Wanted Posters: A Call for Research

ABSTRACT
Wanted posters are an important investigative tool, yet there has been no psychological research on their effectiveness. This paper demonstrates that wanted poster tasks are significantly different from other police procedures, such as lineups and composites, making generalizations from these other procedures questionable. A call is made for research on this as yet unexplored topic.
