ABSTRACT

The electronic structure of pure and doped aluminium with dilute amounts of iron impurities (0.215 wt % Fe and 0.304 wt % Fe) has been analyzed using reported X-ray data sets and the MEM (maximum entropy method) technique. Qualitative as well as quantitative assessment of the electron density distribution in these samples has been made. The mid-bond characterization leads to a conclusion about the nature of doping of impurities. An expansion of size of the atoms is observed with the addition of Fe impurities.
