An Overview of Surface Roughness Effects on Nucleate Boiling Heat Transfer

ABSTRACT

Effect of small amplitude oscillation in the wall temperature on the natural convection flow from a cylinder of elliptic cross section has been investigated. Solutions of the governing equation are obtained for eccentric angle α in the range [0, π] employing the finite difference method together with Keller-box elimination. The solutions are discussed in terms of amplitude and phase of the skin-friction and rate of heat transfer for fluid having Prandtl number equals 0.1 for given values of different A0 that represent the ratio of the semi-major and semi-minor axis of the cylinder.
